If you find these signs resonating with what you see around you, it’s likely that you too sense that we may be living in the end times.

One author made this observation about society. “Much of what was standard Christian morals have been taken for granted in our country for many generations. It was a part of the fabric upon which our society was built.

21 “Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; 22 and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall pelo longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again.

If we are going to take the words of Jesus seriously, then you have to be on guard because false prophets will arise and indeed have already arisen. Like it or not they are here, and they will not be going away any time soon.

But today, if we don’t fully embrace those things in a positive way, we are silenced and condemned as hateful and intolerant.4 Good becomes evil, and evil becomes good. The cultural world has flipped upside down.

The texts from the Old and New Testaments together form a comprehensive narrative of the end times. They paint a picture of judgment, resurrection, and renewal, forming the foundation of Christian eschatology.

In the old story, a type of parable, Henny Penny is a chicken and not a very intelligent one. An acorn falls on her head, and she concludes the sky must be falling, leading to hysteria. 

Within the church in Corinth there were people who looked like there were legitimate, but they were not. I know we don’t like to talk about these things and honestly, they are hard to admit, but there are false prophets that are within the church right now.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

Related to nearly every individual year beginning in 2008, I have denounced false prophets as well as those that speculated on each of those years as to the start of the Great Tribulation, as all who did so were much too close to that date/year for it to be possible.

Developing an understanding of these signs can enhance our interpretation of Scripture and enlighten our anticipation for this prophesied event.
